De Vries Hanze BV was founded through a collaboration between two experienced players in the reed industry: De Vries Cornjum and Hanze Wetlands. By combining their knowledge and hands-on experience, we now offer complete solutions for mechanised reed processing – from harvest to thatching reed.
De Vries Cornjum has been designing and building smart, durable machines for wetland nature management for over 35 years. Think of tool carriers, mowing heads and transport solutions – developed for real-world use in vulnerable environments. Hanze Wetlands, founded by Marcel Oomen, focused on the post-harvest processing of reed. With the development of the Minifix (reed bundling machine) and Cleanfix (cleaning module), he introduced a level of refinement to a sector that traditionally relied heavily on manual labour.
In 2025, both parties decided to join forces. Hanze Wetlands had proven technology, but limited scalability. De Vries Cornjum contributed production capacity, organisational structure, and international market access. The establishment of De Vries Hanze BV made it possible to further develop Hanze’s technology and make it available to a broader market – without compromising on craftsmanship or straightforward thinking.
De Vries Hanze delivers complete, reliable, and innovative solutions for the reed processing industry – from mowing to sorting – with respect for nature, tradition, and craftsmanship.
We aim to be a leading international player in practical reed technology. Not through mass production, but by offering well-designed machines that make the work easier and support sustainable, biobased construction.
Our machines are built on deep knowledge of the craft and practical experience. They do exactly what they’re designed to do – without unnecessary complexity.
We continually improve – in mechanical design and ease of use. Developed with and for the end user.
What we deliver, works. Our machines are solid, low-maintenance and highly deployable under varying conditions.
No empty promises. We communicate clearly, work efficiently, and deliver what we commit to.
Our technology helps preserve both the craft and the landscapes in which it is practised.
