With the establishment of De Vries Hanze BV, part of De Vries Cornjum BV, an important step has been taken to safeguard and further develop modern reed processing technology. The new company is the result of a collaboration between De Vries Cornjum Machinebouw BV and the former Hanze Wetlands Techniek BV. Both companies have over 35 years of experience in mechanical engineering for nature conservation and wetland management. The well-known Minifix and Cleanfix, developed by Marcel Oomen – second-generation entrepreneur and successor to Jaap Wildeman – now have a solid foundation for the future.
The machines developed by Hanze Wetlands Techniek BV have proven themselves in the market over recent years. However, further growth within the existing structure proved unfeasible. To prevent valuable technology and expertise from being lost, a future-proof solution was sought in good consultation.
De Vries Cornjum recognised the opportunity to retain and expand practical innovation. With the creation of De Vries Hanze BV, technology, experience, and market access are now combined within a new, solid organisation.
Within the new company, Marcel Oomen is responsible for product development and innovation. His reed knowledge and his involvement in machine design remain fully intact. Gerrit Jan de Vries, representing De Vries Cornjum, takes on general management and customer contact, supported by an operational team with experience in sales, production, assembly, and service.
“For me, it’s important that the technology not only continues to exist but can also grow,” says Marcel Oomen. “This partnership allows me to fully focus on developing reliable machines for the reed sector – with more momentum and a strong eye for craftsmanship.”
“We have great confidence in the technology Marcel developed,” adds Gerrit Jan de Vries. “It’s not only important to keep these machines available, but also to further optimise them and expand their reach internationally. The market needs solutions that simply work – and that’s exactly what we continue to deliver.”
De Vries Hanze BV focuses on the development and delivery of complete, modular systems for reed processing. From mowing head to thatching reed – reliable, user-friendly and entirely built in-house. Thanks to the combination of innovation, practical knowledge and solid engineering, the company offers a unique solution that meets the growing demand for sustainable, biobased construction materials.
With a clear vision and transparent communication, De Vries Hanze aims to maintain and expand its customer base. In doing so, not only is the technology preserved – but also the quality and character that users have come to rely on.
